UUR : Enable finding related UUT report by sub-unit
Hello,
It would be very useful if we could create a UUR report of a component that is listed as a sub-unit on a different UUT report. Currently, the only way to associate a UUR report is to use the same top-level P/N as the UUT report we want to associate it to. We would like the UUR to be written against the sub-unit, not the top level P/N but still have it associate with the UUT report of the top-level.
In the attached screenshot example, we want to enter "SENSOR_PN" as the part number and "7000001" as the serial number to create the UUR but be able to select the parent UUT report in the "Identify by related UUT report" section. The inability to do this is getting in the way of us being able to use WATS effectively for some of our repair processes.
Thank you,
Corey

Hi Corey,
If i understand correctly you would like to perform a repair on a subunit and attach it to the UUT of the parent unit, using the list provided in the "Identify UUT report tab".
When doing it the other way around. Repairing the parent unit and registering a repair on the subunit. It is possible to view the repairs on the subunits throught the dymanic repair.
e.g.
Perform a repair on a unit with part number: 12, revision:12,
and the subunit with partnumber 13, revision: 13
In the dynamic repair, it is possible to view the subunit repair count.
The "unit type" can be selected as a column option in the general grid options to enable sorting and filtering based on this column.

Helge,
Thank you for the information. That is helpful, I had not used the "dynamic repair" section, only the "Repair Reports" section. That gets us some of the functionality we were hoping for. However, I am still hopeful that functionality can be added that would allow a repair report to be created directly against a sub-unit P/N, that can then be associated back with its top-level test report. This more accurately reflect how we are performing repairs.
Corey
