Manual inspection for a batch

I want to make a manual inspection for items not having a serial number, they have a batch name instead.

In my WATS i can only make manual inspection if I enter any serial number. Entering batch number alone is not enough. Serial number is unique, I cannot enter twice the same, this could be a workaround but it does not work.

It seems I can do this but I need to activate MES capabilities, and not only test capabilities, in my WATS. Looking for help in the support and help center and asking Alvea I have contradictory views. It seems I have MES capabilities, because I see processes and production under control panel but when I try to activate tMES capabilities in the operator interface / configuration I don't see the checkboxes
