    Hi Michał,

    See my comments:

    1. Is the lack of compatibility with TestStand 2024 Q4 due to a known issue that is still waiting to be resolved?
Yes, a know issue. It was resolved by NI in release 2025 Q2 (Still version 2024)
      TestStand 2024 Q4 Known Issues - NI (2938931)

    2. Or is this version not expected to be supported at all in the future?
TestStand 2024 Q4 will not be supported

    3. Is there any possible workaround that would allow WATS to be used with TestStand 2024 Q4, or is it completely unsupported/impossible at the moment?
      Upgrade to 2025 Q2.
Optionally; Use a WATS Client converter and convert the TS ATML or XML report files instead of using the add-on.

    TestStand XML report converter

    What it supports

    • Imports reports from the TestStand XML Document report format
    • Supports native TestStand steps and WATS TestStand add‑on steps
    • Does not support other custom TestStand steps

    Setup

    • Configure TestStand to use XML Document reporting
    • Install the TestStand XML converter on a connected WATS Client
    • Upload the generated XML UUT reports through that client
    •

    TestStand ATML reports

    Support

    • WATS supports IEEE ATML versions 2.02, 5.00, and 6.01
    • The ATML converter is preinstalled with the WATS Client
    • Based on the NI TestStand ATML layout

    Limitations

    • Step Additional Result is not supported with ATML alone
    • For full TestStand feature support, WATS recommends the WATS TestStand add‑on

Using either converter in WATS Client

    • Open WATS Client Configuration → Converters
    • Select ATML or TestStand XML
    • Configure:
      • Input folder (where TestStand writes reports)
      • File filter (e.g. *.xml)
      • Converter parameters (for missing fields like Test Operation)
    • The WATS Client monitors the folder and imports reports automatically
