PDF export is available in supported Analytics modules, including Reports, Dashboards, and Manufacturing Insights. Reports containing multiple elements, such as grids and charts, can be exported as a single PDF document, making it easier to share or archive complete report views.
Export a report page as PDF
- Open the Analytics page to export and apply the filters to include.
- Select Export to PDF in the page header, next to the refresh and full screen controls. On dashboards and the Process Heatmap, the option is in the page toolbar instead. The Export to PDF panel opens.
- Under Include, select Filters to print the applied filters with the report, and Company logo to print the configured logo. Both are selected by default.
- Under Mode, select Content or Layout. See Choosing between Content and Layout mode below.
- Under Columns, select Visible columns to export the grid as it appears on screen, or All columns to include columns that are currently hidden.
- Under Paper size, select A4, Letter or A3.
- Under Layout, select Portrait or Landscape. Landscape suits wide grids and heatmaps.
- Select Export. The PDF is generated and downloaded. The panel settings are remembered for the next export, including after signing in again.
Choosing between Content and Layout mode
Content composes the page for paper. Sections and grids continue across as many pages as needed, so a long grid is exported in full rather than cut off at the edge of the screen. Use this mode for reports that are to be read or filed.
Layout reproduces the current screen and exports only what is visible, including expanded sections and the rows currently shown in a grid. Use this mode when the exported document should look exactly like the view on screen.
Export a dashboard as PDF
- Open the dashboard to export.
- Select Export to PDF in the dashboard toolbar.
- Set the options as described above, then select Export.
Export the Process Heatmap as PDF
- Open the Process Heatmap and apply the filters to include.
- Select Export to PDF in the toolbar.
- Set the options, then select Export.
The result depends on the selected mode:
- In Content mode, the entire heatmap is exported as a selectable text table, with every row and process column, including content that is not visible on screen.
- In Layout mode, the heatmap is exported as an image of the current view, using the active theme.
What the exported PDF contains
- Grids are exported as text tables, so values can be selected, searched and copied in the PDF. Row grouping and tree levels are retained.
- Charts and maps are exported as images. Charts are rendered in a light theme suited to printing, regardless of the theme in use on screen.
- Report parameters entered by the user are included as a parameter table. This applies to Connection and execution time, Cost analysis and OEE analysis. Values are included as shown at the time of export, so a report that has not been calculated exports with those values blank.
