The Users module provides a complete overview and control of all users within your WATS instance.
From this module, you can create, update, delete, and manage security settings such as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and WATS Authentication.
User access can also be restricted to specific levels or product groups.
Access to the Users module depends on the user’s role and permissions. Only account owners or users with sufficient privileges can access this module. (See Roles & Permission)
NOTE: For Microsoft Entra ID integration, a User must be created in WATS where Username is the same as the Microsoft Entra ID username (e.g. email address). See also this article to enable Microsoft Entra ID.
How to access the Users module
Navigate to Control Panel → Users & Account → Users.
Alternatively, search for “Users” in the search bar, and select the result to open the module.
Create a user
To create a new user, click + New user at the top left of the page.
This adds a new editable row in the grid where you can enter user details.
Required fields:
Username
Full Name
Email
Roles
Web Client
The username must be unique within your WATS instance and cannot be changed after creation.
You can also restrict the user’s level and product group access. When applied, the user will only see the selected levels and product groups. (see System Manager and Product Groups)
By default, WATS Authentication is enabled. It is recommended to keep this enabled as a backup authentication method in case external providers become unavailable.
The Expire Date (UTC) is set to Unlimited by default but can be adjusted.
