The System Manager provides a structured overview of your WATS infrastructure. All servers, clients, and related entities are displayed hierarchically in a tree view.
Overview
The hierarchy consists of the following entities:
- WATS Servers
- WATS Clients
- Web Clients
- Virtual Levels
Each WATS installation includes one Web Client by default, and all users are linked to it.
You can create additional Web Clients and Virtual Levels to build a customized system structure.
Entity Types
| Type | Virtual | Description |
|---|---|---|
| WATS Server | No | A regional or local server connected to a master server (or cloud master), running its own web portal and local database. |
| WATS Client | No | A test station running WATS Client software. Clients communicate with a server and appear under it in the hierarchy. Clients can be moved into Virtual Levels. |
| Web Client | Yes | Users must belong to a Web Client. Reports created in Operator Interface (UUR, Manual Inspection) are linked to this Web Client. Can be placed in Virtual Levels. |
| Virtual Level | Yes | A custom grouping level. Can contain clients, servers, Web Clients, or other Virtual Levels to build a custom hierarchy. |
Virtual Levels are available in:
- The Level dropdown in report filters
- The Restrict to level field in Users / Account
Managing the Hierarchy
Use New Virtual Level and New Web Client from the toolbar to add items.
These options become available when a level is selected.
Note:
