Starting from WATS Client version 5.0, you must actively identify the client to your WATS Server or WATS Cloud account.
The WATS Client will use the provided credentials to create its own headless user in WATS when it is registered, creating its own token with role Client. It will then use this token for all other communication with WATS. It does not store the entered credentials.
Using Username
Enter a valid username and password (same credentials as used to log in to the WATS web application). The user must have access (permission) to register new WATS Clients. By default, Manager and Analyzer roles have access to register new WATS Clients.
See Edit Roles & Permission article
Using API Token
For remote installations of WATS Clients, you should not distribute your Username and Password. Instead, you can use an API Token. Add the Token key in the Password field and leave Username empty.
