The Asset Types interface allows you to manage existing asset types as well as create new ones. Asset Types define limits, intervals, thresholds, and operational properties used throughout the Asset Manager module.
Creating a new Asset type
To create a new asset type:
Click + New Type.
A new row will be added to the grid.
Specify the running count limit, total count limit, calibration interval, and maintenance interval for the asset type.
Define warning and alarm thresholds as needed.
Save
Editing Asset Types
To edit an existing asset type:
Double-click the asset type you want to modify in the grid.
Edit the values directly in the row.
Update any limits, intervals, or threshold settings as required.
Changes take effect immediately after saving.
Deleting Asset Types
To delete one or more asset types:
Select the rows you want to delete.
Click Delete Selected Types in the ribbon.
Note: Asset types that are currently in use cannot be deleted.
To view or manage assets belonging to a selected type, click the eye icon to open the Asset Manager.
Limit and interval
Dropdown options allow flexible configuration of limits and intervals:
Unlimited: No limit or interval (days) is set.
Limit/ Interval: Specify a numerical limit or number of days.
External: The interval (days) is managed by an external system.
Count Limit and Total Count Limit support Unlimited.
Calibration Interval and Maintenance Interval support Unlimited and External.
This enables easier integration with external calibration and maintenance systems.
Important Constraints
-
The Total Count Limit must always be equal to or higher than the Running Count Limit.
If set lower, it will automatically be updated to match the Running Count Limit.
-
The same rule applies to Warning Threshold and Alarm Threshold.
Alarm must never be lower than Warning.

Access Control
Permissions for the Asset Manager module, including the ability to create, edit, delete, modify counters and limits, and manage Asset Types, are configured through the Control Panel under Roles and permissions section.
Note: Restricting user access in the Users module (for example, by limiting visibility to specific product groups) does not restrict asset visibility.
Users will still be able to view all assets across all sites, regardless of product group restrictions.
