The WATS Client includes two monitors that run on the test station. The Client Monitor shows whether the client is working as expected. The Yield Monitor shows the quality trend for the current test. This article is for operators and test engineers who want to check either one during production.
Prerequisites
- The WATS Client is installed and running on the test station.
Check the client status
- Right-click the WATS icon in the notification area of the Windows taskbar.
- Select Client Monitor.
The WATS Client Monitor shows the following information:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| WATS Client Status | Whether the client is connected to the WATS server, for example Online, Inactive, Offline. |
| WATS Client Service | Whether the WATS Client service is running on the test station, for example Running. |
| Reports pending | The number of reports waiting to be converted or sent to the server. If this number keeps rising, reports are not reaching the server. |
| Reports created | The number of reports created by the client. |
| Connected to | The address of the WATS server that the client sends reports to. |
The window also shows the WATS Client version number at the bottom.
Troubleshooting options
If a WATS support asks for logs, use these buttons:
- Generate Support Log creates a log file to send to WATS support.
- Enable Verbose Logging records more detail in the log for 24 hours, then turns off automatically. Extra detail helps when investigating a problem.
View the yield trend
- Right-click the WATS icon in the notification area.
- Select Yield Monitor.
The Yield Monitor shows the yield over time for the part number and test operation currently being tested. When a test starts for a different part number or test operation, the Yield Monitor switches to that data automatically.
Start the Yield Monitor automatically
- Right-click the WATS icon in the notification area.
- Open the Configure view, and select Yield monitor settings.
- Select Run on start up to start the Yield Monitor when the WATS Client starts.
