Enterprise Connection forwards reports from one WATS account to another, but product groups are not transferred with them. When reports arrive at a destination WATS where no product group includes their part number, the part number has to be associated with a product group on the destination WATS before the reports are included in product group based reporting. This article describes how to find and associate those part numbers.
Prerequisites
- An Enterprise Connection job that is active and has uploaded reports to the destination WATS. See Enterprise Connection
- A user on the destination WATS with permission to manage product groups.
- The product group that the part number should belong to must already exist on the destination WATS. If it does not, create it first under Product groups.
Find the unassociated part numbers
- On the destination WATS, open the Control panel and select Product groups.
- Select the Unassociated part numbers tab. The list shows every part number that has been seen in UUT reports but is not included in any product group.
- Use the Last seen (UTC) column to identify part numbers that arrived recently, for example after an Enterprise Connection job was started.
Associate a part number with a product group
- Hover over the part number cell. A button appears in the cell.
- Select the button. The Associate with product groups menu opens.
- Select one or more product groups. Use Search to find a group by name, or Select all to select every group.
- To keep the same product groups selected for the next part number, check Keep selection after confirming.
- Select Confirm. The part number is added as a filter to each selected product group, with revision set to "%", and disappears from the list.
The part number is now included in the selected product groups and appears in reports filtered by those groups.
Part numbers that do not appear in the list
Only part numbers from UUT reports are listed under Unassociated part numbers. Enterprise Connection can forward both UUT and UUR reports, but a part number that only exists in forwarded UUR reports is not listed. See Why a part number is missing from Unassociated part numbers for how to handle this case.
